└──────── Blue Wave / QWK offline mail door for PCBoard v15.x ─────────┘
INTRODUCTION
PCBWave is a shareware Blue Wave and QWK compatible offline mail door
for PCBoard and PCBoard/2 version 15.x and later. PCBWave has been
successfully tested with PCBoard v15.21, and should be compatible with
any future versions. It will NOT work with versions prior to v15.x.
This file is a quick documentation of the PCBWave install process. The
install program is pretty straight forward and easy to use, and new
installations do not require you to do anything special. If you are
upgrading from a previous version, please ensure that you've read the
WHATSNEW.* file immediately after upgrading.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
(1) Create a temporary directory anywhere on your hard drive, and
extract the PWAVE110.ZIP (or PWOS2110.ZIP) archive into this
directory. Ensure that the following files are present:
FILE_ID.DIZ ┬ Product description information
DESC.SDI ┘
INSTALL.EXE - PCBWave installation program
INSTALL.PCW - PCBWave installation archive
INSTALL.DOC - PCBWave installation documentation
If all of these files do not exist in the archive, then your copy of
PCBWave is not the original distribution archive, and has been
modified. If this is the case, we suggest obtaining a new copy, and
scanning your system for viruses just to make sure.
(2) Change to the directory you extracted the distribution archive to in
step #1, and Type "INSTALL.EXE" to run the install program.
(3) Select "New Installation" if this is the first time you've setup
PCBWave on your system. If you are upgrading from a previous
version, or re-installing your current copy, select "Upgrade", and
INSTALL will only overwrite PCBWave's executables, samples, and
documentation, but not any of it's data files.
(4) If you wish to install PCBWave in a directory other than the default
of "C:\PCBWAVE\", enter the directory.
(5) Select "The above paths are acceptable". INSTALL will auto-
matically unpack PCBWave's data files, and configure the default
PCBWave setup for you.
The installation process is now complete. You should now refer to
PCBWAVE.DOC in the C:\PCBWAVE\DOCS\ directory for information on how to
set up PCBWave in PCBoard so that your users can access it, and for
documentation of PCWSETUP, PCBWave's setup program, which you can use to
configure PCBWave to suit your preferences.
